Equity Assessment & Improvement Solutions


A consultation designed to evaluate if the quality of service is equitable or meeting desired goals, equity standards, KPIs, or other metrics. Equity assessments are performed using a personalized equity-based metric system. The improvement solutions are an additional service advising how to improve the quality of service based on the performance tracking of the equity based metric system.

Cast Study 1

Connecticut Children’s Hospital has been awarded a federal education grant to perform a market research analysis designed to understand how to better connect residents of the North Hartford Promise Zone with programs improving quality of life in school, health, and opportunity. Between June 2022 and October 2022, Colored Hemisphere, LLC in collaboration with partners of the North Hartford Ascend Pipeline was awarded $120,000 to administer a comprehensive market analysis collecting communal feedback relating to education, child health services, family support, child welfare, child & family legal services, and neighborhood health and safety. Colored Hemisphere was hired as a subcontractor to lead community engagement efforts and create market research strategies to organically engage parents, families, and caregivers. Four focus group/ community conversations were hosted documenting both qualitative and quantitative demographic data relating to education, child health services, family support, child welfare, child & family legal services, and neighborhood health and safety. The market research analysis created job opportunities and financial support for local community organizers and residents. Demographic research gathered was used to rebrand the marketing tools and communication channels utilized to connect North Hartford promise zone residents.

Cast Study 2

Transforming Communities Initiative (TCI) is a $1.7Mil 5-year investment to support policy, systems, and environmental changes with a focus on dismantling systemic racism where it exists in the community. TCI was launched in June 2022 funded by Trinity Health and led by United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut. TCI was introduced to North Hartford Triple Aim Collaborative where many current collaborators were recruited to participate along with United Way’s Young Legends program. In 2023 YWCA Hartford Region was selected to lead this project into year a multi-year federally funded initiative; deepening the focus on the link between health disparities and systemic racism as it impacts Hartford residents. Currently, Colored Hemisphere has been awarded as a multi-year subcontractor, acting as Community Action Partner for Trinity Health New England and YWCA of Hartford TCI Project to administer community outreach strategies identifying quality of life issues among LATINX Spanish speaking migrant residents and Queer residents identified within greater Hartford. Between September and December 31, 2023, four community conversations were hosted with CH residential community organizers to facilitate collection of communal qualitative and quantitative data relating to mental health resources, economic opportunity, accessibility to housing and recreational activities for people with disabilities. Demographic information gathered is currently being transformed into legislative recommendations for eliminating documented quality of life issues.

Our fiscal sponsor, NEST is a 501©3 nonprofit, HUD Certified organization that was founded in 1980 with the purpose of revitalizing neighborhoods and creating homeownership opportunities throughout greater Waterbury and beyond. Since receiving fiscal sponsorship in 2024, CH has created quality of life enhancement programs in delivery of baby formula, at home HIV testing kits and book sharing. Community support programs are designed to be at no cost to recipients with a goal to service +200 households annually.
