Mission Statement:

Our mission is to improve the quality of service administered by proposed legislation, programs, or community service institution(s) designed to improve the quality of life for historically disenfranchised communities with a focus on communities of color, LGBTQUIA2+, indigenous, persons with disabilities, as well as migrant populations

Vision Statement:

To influence and materialize the best outcomes for historically marginalized communities with the goal to liberate and disarm within the technocratic age.

Purpose & Powers

Our purpose as an organization is to tailor desired outcomes to suit the expectations of the client or program that is being administered by Colored Hemisphere. Each service is designed to promote an equitable quality of life for historically disenfranchised communities.

Our power is used to build sustainable resources with the goal of eliminating systemic institutional oppressive symptomology.

Equity Promise & Contribution

A percentage of the earnings and contributions received for providing equity-based consultation services will be used to administer economic communal support services and emergency response programs designed to promote thrivability of economically distressed communities.

Fiscal Agent

Our fiscal sponsor, NEST is a 501©3 nonprofit, HUD Certified organization that was founded in 1980 with the purpose of revitalizing neighborhoods and creating homeownership opportunities through greater Waterbury and beyond.

Administration

Our staff are trained community organizers delivering a service that is part of our vision to empower, promote and elevate opportunities for ourselves and the communities we serve.

MEET THE STAFF



Shelby Michelle Williams, MPA

Founder/CEO

Shelby M. Williams, M.P.A, is a highly motivated policy professional with +9 years of experience in ethnographic research, diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, and campaign management who possesses a strong civic rapport in community organizing, fiscal compliance, and municipal administration.

Williams works as a philanthropic champion, marketing strategist, grant procurement professional, fiscal officer, and communicator lobbyist in various policy initiatives designed to connect community service organizations, nonprofits, and revitalization agencies with disenfranchised residents. Coupled with experience performing state-wide outreach and engagement with elected officials to support legislative policies that promote accessibility to resources and economic opportunity for disenfranchised communities.

Williams obtained her B.A in Political Science from Central Connecticut State University and her master’s in public administration from University of Connecticut's School of Public Policy. In her free time Williams enjoys practicing karate, fishing, and pole dancing.

 


Nadia Bidonne

Digital Community Organizer

Nadia Bidonne as our Digital Community Organizer. Nadia, a rising Senior at CCSU and a member of the John Lewis Social Justice Institute, brings a vibrant mix of passions including graphic design, social justice, musical performance, dance, and dedicated volunteer work. As the Digital Community Organizer, Nadia will focus on the management and oversight of community engagement activities, along with website management, branding, and communications.
